You can upload documents like PDF files to your WordPress.com site. For a list of file types we support, see Accepted File Types. If you want to embed a PDF file instead, check out our guide on embedding a PDF file.
If you are using the Classic Editor, you can upload an image of a button and link that image to a PDF or other file. When your readers view your page, they can click on the button to grab your .pdf download.

Open a new browser window and type If you re-named the wordpress folder to something else, then use that name here. WordPress will notify you that it was unable to find wp-config.php file.Click on Create a Configuration File button.Create a Configuration file for WordPress in MAMP on Mac
Once the download is finished, begin installing MAMPP by running the installation wizard. You may be asked to install the Pro version as well. This is not a mandatory requirement and you can start with the free version by clicking the grey folder.
While MAMP is for Macintosh users, WAMP is available for Windows users. It works in a similar way using Apache, PHP and MySQL. It is also free to download. (For WAMP-specific setup instructions, watch this video.)
However, it is important to realize that by setting up the document root, you are not changing the location of MAMP (the application). You are simply specifying where MAMP will be looking for the files.
Due to potential conflicts in the .htaccess file, do not configure multiple WordPress installations to share a single document root. If you experience difficulties with WordPress, check the following requirements:
Once the MAMP download is complete, double-click the MAMP disk image (it should be something like MAMP_2.0.3.dmg), and you should get a MAMP window pop up. Drag the MAMP folder (not MAMP PRO - we'll save that walk-through for another time) to the Applications folder.
Lastly, on the Web Server tab, you'll need to set a document root. This is where all of your files are going to be for your local web server. An example of a document root is /Users/USERNAME/Sites/wordpress/.
Under "Create new database", enter in a database name such as "wordpress", and press "Create." No need to choose an option for "collation" : it will automatically be assigned by MySQL when the database tables are created, during the WordPress installation.
Now it's time to download WordPress. Once you've downloaded and unzipped the WordPress download, open up the "wordpress" folder. Click and drag all of the files from the wordpress folder to your MAMP document root (I use /Users/USERNAME/Sites/wordpress/).
Others with the default MAMP install should rename and drag the folder to the htdocs folder, located under /Applications/MAMP. Then in the browser, go to localhost:port/folder_renamed to run the install. For example, in the default MAMP install, if the folder was renamed wordpresstest, go to localhost:8888/wordpresstest.
Note that the default Database Name is "Wordpress" and that you will need to change the Database Name to the name you entered into PHP Admin (in this case, "wordpresstest"). If you have multiple WordPress sites on your local machine, each of which is using its own database, you will need to make the Database Name in the WordPress configuration consistent with your second (or third or fourth) Database Name.
To have the possibility to run your WordPress application on a local Web server, store the extracted file to the document root of the server where the PHP interpreter is configured. For local development environment with the Apache HTTPD Web server, extract WordPress.zip to the htdocs folder.
Do I need to create multiple forms/views to offer different files to be downloaded (some page, other pages)? Or can the filename be passed via an url parameter and use one form? Otherwise if I have many files, creating many forms is not a dynamic solution...
The DRM removal plugin (DeDRM_plugin.zip) can be found in the tools archive linked from the most recent post in this blog. The DeDRM plugin can remove DRM from Kindle eBooks (but not rented Kindle ebooks, books downloaded to a Kindle Fire, Kindle for iOS or the Windows Store Kindle App), Barnes & Noble ePub ebooks (but not books downloaded to the Windows Store Nook App) , any ebooks using Adobe Digital Editions DRM (this includes ePubs from Kobo and Sony that are downloaded for Adobe Digital Editions), and the older Mobipocket and eReader ebooks. For other kinds of ebooks see the other posts in this blog.
On Macintosh and Windows systems no customisation is required for ebooks from Kindle for Mac/PC, Nook Study, or Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), provided that calibre is run on the same computer and user account as the installation of Kindle for Mac/PC, Nook Study, or ADE to which the books were downloaded. The default key is found and stored in the preferences automatically. Anyone using Linux should read the ReadMe file for details of how to obtain the keys manually.
Step 6: Find and download wp-config.php. The wp-config.php file is located in your root folder, so just scroll down to wp-config.php in the bottom right pane of your SFTP client. Right click on the wp-config.php, and click Download, or simply drag the file from the right pane to the desired folder in the left pane.
This will show you a page with all of your available licenses. To download the plugin, click on the Download WPForms button next to one of your licenses. This will save a zipped file of the WPForms plugin to your computer.
These procedures are intended for use with Amazon Linux 2. For more information about other distributions, see their specific documentation. Many steps in this tutorial do not work on Ubuntu instances. For help installing WordPress on an Ubuntu instance, see WordPress in the Ubuntu documentation. You can also use CodeDeploy to accomplish this task on Amazon Linux, macOS, or Unix systems.
Now that you've unzipped the installation folder, created a MySQL database and user, and customized the WordPress configuration file, you are ready to copy your installation files to your web server document root so you can run the installation script that completes your installation. The location of these files depends on whether you want your WordPress blog to be available at the actual root of your web server (for example, my.public.dns.amazonaws.com) or in a subdirectory or folder under the root (for example, my.public.dns.amazonaws.com/blog).
If you want WordPress to run in an alternative directory under the document root, firstcreate that directory, and then copy the files to it. In this example, WordPresswill run from the directory blog:
For security purposes, if you are not moving on to the next procedure immediately, stop the Apache web server (httpd) now. After you move your installation under the Apache document root, the WordPress installation script is unprotected and an attacker could gain access to your blog if the Apache web server were running. To stop the Apache web server, enter the command sudo systemctl stop httpd. If you are moving on to the next procedure, you do not need to stop the Apache web server.
Some of the available features in WordPress require write access to the Apache document root (such as uploading media though the Administration screens). If you have not already done so, apply the following group memberships and permissions (as described in greater detail in the LAMP web server tutorial).

The preview panel shows you useful information about the selected file. It lets you playback audio and video files, inspect images, PDFs, and other popular document types. You can do quick edits on a text file in place, both on local drives and remote servers.
WordPress is a powerful platform for business sites including blogs, information sites and even e-commerce sites. Its intuitive interface lets even first-time users easily add information to their sites, and its core functions can be extended with additional modules that can be downloaded from the WordPress site or obtained from developers. The platform is easy to install on a server as well. After you download the WordPress package as a .zip archive, use the built-in unzip function on either Windows or Mac OS X to open the archive and decompress the files for uploading to your server.
Click the "Download WordPress" button at the top right of the download page. Wait for the .zip archive to download to your default download folder. Save the archive to a folder other than your download folder if you wish by right-clicking, selecting "Save Link As" and then selecting a folder in the dialog box. Proceed to Step 3 if you have a Windows computer or skip to Step 4 if you have a Mac.

PDFs are often quite large in file size because they are printable web documents, so creators tend to put design elements into them. Reduce the PDF file size before uploading it to WordPress to keep a website/blog fast. 2b1af7f3a8
