Minecraft Free Download Mac Os X 10.6 8

When I first downloaded the game, I logged in and it came with 'Cannot log in (not downloaded)'. I looked on other forums and it said I might need to log into Minecraft on their website and the files will download. When I log into the website and try and play the game there, it doesn't load, it gives me a blank webpage, meaning I couldn't get the files.
So, I got my boyfriend to transfer the files from his (Windows) version of the game into my Minecraft folder on my Mac to solve the (not downloaded) problem. Now, I can log into my account. It can't connect to Mincraft.net, but I should be able to play offline (I don't know why it won't let me play online, but that's a different story). Now, when I click 'Play Offline', it'll go to the loading screen and then the program will stay black from then on.
As X423424X suggested, Java might be disabled. Apple recently released a Java security update for 10.6.8 that disables Java. So, assuming your system is up to date with the latest security patches, you'll need to enable Java again.
The 10.6.8 update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes that:
There's no option for this. After clicking the minecraft icon I get the usual java terminal window and then old launcher but before anything else happens, I get this new screen that I'd never seen before (1st image) and can get no further. See image.
As others have stated, Oracle is only supporting Java 7 on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. The openjdk-osx-build project ( -osx-build/) was creating OpenJDK 7 builds for OS X 10.6, but has recently shuttered the operation.
If you have / will install Xcode 3.2.6 or 4.2 (4.2 requires a paid account or a little illegality, and I know it's a massive download), download the java 7 installer, extract the PKG from the DMG file, and open it in PackageMaker. Remove the version requirement string and rebuild the PKG file. It will now let you install Java 7!

Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) is the sixth major release of macOS, Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. Leopard was released on October 26, 2007 as the successor of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, and is available in two editions: a desktop version suitable for personal computers, and a server version, Mac OS X Server. It retailed for $129[2] for the desktop version and $499 for Server.[8] Leopard was superseded by Snow Leopard (version 10.6) in 2009. Leopard is the final version of macOS to support the PowerPC architecture as Snow Leopard functions solely on Intel based Macs.
Apple has ended support for Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8. As a result Primavera will no longer be able to support that operating system. If your computer has the correct hardware, you may be able to do a free upgrade to the latest macOS version. Check here for more information. 2b1af7f3a8
