1 Week of Gaming
Welcome and thanks for being here. I created this blog because it was something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I've loved playing video games since I can remember, and I wanted a place where I could share my thoughts, refine my writing skills and keep a log of games I've played.
I happen to have a job where I get the week off for Thanksgiving and I planned to take the time to play as much video games as I can. I also wanted to have something tangible at the end of it all, instead of feeling that I have nothing to show for it. This feeling has always kept me from enjoying my games as I feel guilty that I should be putting more of my time into my work.
At the same time, my job is physically and mentally draining, and I need something to do to unwind and look forward to coming home to. I often find myself forcing myself to do things that I enjoy, like video games or exercising, but afterward feel glad I did.
I am also interested in game design, so I also wanted to analyze what makes a great game. Feeling that I don't ever have enough time to play all the games I am interested in, I often just buy games based on their scores from critics. Not only can these reviews be biased, but also I miss a lot of average scoring games that have great ideas or design elements that are often times overlooked.
However, ultimately I created this blog/site because it was a goal of mine that I set out to accomplish during my break. I had tons of plans, like starting a YouTube channel, learning video editing, creating simple animations, learning to draw, and as always getting into better shape. I still plan to do those things, but this is my first step. I plan to make an entry every day regarding one or more of these goals.
So until tomorrow, have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read. Leave a comment below on what goal you've been trying to accomplish.
