Transference (PS4) - Gameplay Walkthrough w/ Commentary

Transference is a 1st person psychological thriller game focused on exploration. It's developed by SpectreVision and Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. Footage is taken on the PS4, but it is also available on the Xbox One and VR devices.

The story revolves around a family and during the game you switch perspectives between the Dad, Mom and the adolescent son. The game is unique, as it incorporates live action video of the three characters. I felt the voice acting and live action segments were of high quality and succeeded in blending the game and real-world feel of the game.

At the beginning of the game, the father explains that he has been studying and experimenting with creating or transferring human consciousness into the digital world. As a result, the game world is expressed as a digital recreation of a memory, with sections missing and error messages. The game has a sinister presence and you piece together the story as it unfolds through three different perspectives. The game always leaves you feeling as if you are not sure what the truth really is.
